I had implicitly stated in the past that I wished to stay away from using the word 'I' to begin an article, but alas, I could not avoid self reflection for inspiration. How could one avoid talking about that beautiful innocent period of life known as our 'childhood' when the inspiration behind these photos come from a land of mystical fairytales. I cannot emphasise enough how much my childhood could be summarised as a feverish obsession over princesses, and the classic Cinderella was unsurprisingly my favourite. 

LACE AND LUST

To feel so deeply and unquestionably passionate about something is a true blessing, because time spent doubting your passion is time better spent listening to that soft whistling wind beckoning you in its direction to construct your empire on that very sand. Indecisiveness is such a common condition that people suffer from, I do and I’m certain you do too; whether from fear of offending others or fear of regretting the decision. But doubt and indecisiveness is negative energy that holds us back from reaching our full potential. Sometimes we just need to be irrational and pursue something with constant, persistent and immense energy; in the very same way that the waves come crashing on the shore each time. 

THE AUSTRALIAN STORY

There are some peculiar misconceptions that people have of the isolated land down under. "Do you ride on kangaroos to school?", "I've heard there are Drop Bears by the name of Koalas that eat your brains out!", "Do you celebrate Christmas?", "Are there supermarkets there?". Some are pretty nonsensical but these misconceptions are, or hopefully are, outdated as Globalisation moves Australia out of isolation.

However to be fair, some beliefs do have their grounds. We don't ride Kangaroos to school but we do see them in our suburban streets. My friend has opened her front doors and seen two kangaroos standing on her lawn like perfect statues. And no, she doesn't live in the outback. But sometimes the suburban areas can feel like the Great Outback with a little help of some creative positioning, like these photos for example, a simple two minute walking distance from my home. And no, I don't live in the outback either.

NEW BEGINNINGS

It is difficult not to begin a sentence with the word 'I'. Most people these days are self-centered in a toxic way. Not necessarily destructive to their surrounding company, but definitely hindering creativity and the stimulation of interest. We must stop looking into the mirror, or our selfies, and search for a window to look outside of ourselves. 

The confession is, so many things written here were unfortunately self-centered , and the realisation has finally come that most people don't really care what you have to say about yourself or your problems unless it affects them in some way. So here's to new beginnings. Here's to inspiring people with art and ideas. Because as Eleanor Roosevelt famously said: "Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people" (people including ourselves).
