THE LAST BLOOM

"A rose can never be a sunflower and a sunflower
can never be a rose. All flowers are beautiful in their own way,
and that's like women." - Miranda Kerr

Being a late bloomer, I was subject to some bullying. It wasn't excessive, but it need not have been excessive for me to feel hurt and hateful at the time. Being called small and short made me bitter, and that is why I now hold my height as my proudest asset, especially for an Asian. However this is not to say that I in turn judge smaller people. Firstly I understand what it feels like to be physically small and everyone else being so much taller. Secondly, I applaud them for their amazing personalities, in all honesty I have found that smaller people tend to have a greater confidence. God is fair.

Not just with the concept of height, but with any aspect that goes towards the possible valuation of a human being. Whether that is having a 'pretty' face, a 'gorgeous' body, or having an 'attractive personality'. People are complex creatures, we are all different, inside and out. And we all view beauty differently as well; something that is in all honesty, at the eye of the beholder (a phrase that I finally understand isn't created just to make you feel better about yourself). Some admire feminine sophisticated women, whilst others prefer them a bit more honest, open, down-to-earth and fun. Each beautiful in their own way. Miranda Kerr is amazing, but so is Jennifer Lawrence. Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.

  12. Love every word! It's already a cruel world when there are men putting down woman, but when woman put each other down, it's horrible. Everyone is unique and beautiful in their own way, and it's not up to society and magazines to tell us what is beautiful and what is not. I had the opposite issue growing up, I was always the top 3 tallest girl up until middle school and I felt so self conscious. My Mom was afraid I would keep growing but I've been the same height since I was 10. Well, it all works out in the end. x

  25. I totally agree! Everyone's unique.. and nobody should be putting someone else down because of what they perceive as non-standard or non-ideal.

Having said that, you do looking amazing in that dress! And I love how the shots were made! :)
