Taking over like a denim trend from the 60's, brunch is the new 'craze'; a portmanteau of 'breakfast' and 'lunch'. Surprisingly enough, 'brunch' has been in the Oxford Dictionary since the late 19th century, unlike 'binge-watch' which has only recently been added (yes that's officially in there too now).

Brunch is an excuse to overindulge, and overpay for bacon and eggs. Unfortunately, or not, I haven't completely hopped onto the fairy bandwagon. I've never been the one to follow crazes just for the sake of 'because'. But that isn't to say I don't go on brunch dates with my babes. Brunch is an incredible social activity to bond over, a ritual you could possibly even say. So much sauce is spilt over Eggs Benedict. What better time to spill the goss about late last night than the next morning when the memory is still thriving fresh in your eager mind.

Yes, I'm the type of Asian that can't help but put value-for-money in the front of my mind, and I can't help but think brunch is pricey for the food we are served. But it's all justified! Because let's keep in mind that 1) we are paying for what constitutes as two-meals, essentially saving you money, and 2) we are also paying for the amazing atmosphere as well. Nothing motivates me out of bed more than food does. And to be able to share the experience with friends is more reasons to give up the warm lazy comfort of my sleep haven.

It's rare to see me dressing up with lack of sleep, but for brunch, one must dress up. Going with a 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' vibe, we are reinventing it into 'Brunch at Tiffany's'. Or in true Perthian style, 'Brunch at Tropico's'. Tropico North Beach is one of the most popular brunch places in Perth and a most deserving title, located perfectly near the beach with really amazing food that even a non-foodie can appreciate. Sharing this amazing experience with my childhood babe Jiaxin from The Food Enthusiasts, one of the loveliest persons you shall ever meet. Honestly! Don't let her good looks deceive you, she's gorgeous inside and out (with some serious brains too - Miss Engineer)!

It's definitely a different experience eating with a food blogger but it's a match-made in heaven because she's the only one that understands me when it comes to the awkwardness of taking photos in public for the sake of a blog.
