RENEGADE

"We're riding through the dark night...
Don't say a word while we dance with the devil
You brought a fire to a world so cold...
We're running all the red lights down
No way that we can stop..."
- Duke Dumont (Ocean Drive)

You will never know where it will take you unless you give it a chance and open your heart to new experiences. There is nothing worse than 'what if'. Leave behind the excuse of 'can't, shouldn't, or don't have time to do something'. The most interesting events in my life occurred because I decided to over-commit myself, juggling work, study and social life. Yes, I feared I had over-committed myself and headed my way to failure, but instead it ended up motivating me and made me more efficient. I was living life on the fast lane: learning 10x more, growing 10x quicker, and ultimately 10x closer to success. Because honestly, as the epic quote goes "you have the same number of hours in a day as Beyonce".

Life is too short to sit around twiddling your thumb, go out there and exceed your own expectations. Be a renegade and desert the conservative principles you currently live by. Go to sleep at night being able to name at least one thing you've done in the day that has added value to your life. TV and browsing the web are the most depressing activities. Why? Because you've made no difference in your life, learnt nothing useful and have not made a single step towards accomplishing something bigger. The secret to success? Never stop progressing, starting with the small things from everyday.

As business innovator and bestselling author, Grant Cardone, said "say yes for now until you become so successful that you are forced to add 'no' to your arsenal and start managing your time and efforts. Until then, make 'yes' part of your successful habits. Say yes to your kids, spouse, clients, boss, and more importantly to yourself. It will propel you to new adventures, new solutions and new levels of success." Be fearless and take on every opportunity that comes your way. Say yes, until you have to start saying no. Because "in the end, we only regret the chances we didn't take".

Not only should you take on every opportunity that comes your way, but also be that rebel and take on risks. Ask yourself, in the words of Cardone, "do you really take enough risk to create the success you want and need?". Because most people are too busy trying to conserve something they've already achieved, putting all their energy into clinging onto the old and not in expanding into the new. Cardone, that genius of a man, tells us that "the successful are willing to take gambles - to put it all out there and know, regardless of the outcome, that they can go back and do it again. They allow themselves to be criticized, looked at, and seen by the world - while the unsuccessful hold back and play it safe." Take risks, because "nothing ventured, nothing gained".
