WANDERLUST

 Wanderlust (n.) /ˈwɒndəlʌst/: A very strong and irresistible

impulse or desire to travel the world. 

This is the year of travels. It's now or never. With my law degree starting now and internships next year, studies won't permit me any other time. Even Mama Chen advises me to travel now, for most of my friends are still single and we can experience travelling the 'single' way. This year so far, only two months in, I have already done China, Taiwan and Indonesia. However I do hope to leave the Asian continent to go further as I have finally gotten over my plane phobia that has haunted me for all my life. And above that, I hope to do more travelling alongside my friends as it opens up to a whole new experience. Here is the compilation from my adventure with them in Bali, I hope this inspires you to explore the world as well, and to find yourself in the process.

My thoughts on what I want in my future is constantly changing. Sometimes I envision a mansion with fancy cars and a large envy-worthy wardrobe. But at times like these, I see more of a lifestyle filled with travelling alongside my partner. A person can only truly appreciate something when change occurs. Living in that dream mansion with several Lamborghinis and Ferraris will fade fast, the luxury life will become the norm and the chase becomes endless.

On the other hand, travelling puts life in perspective, we throw ourselves outside of our comfort zones of normality to remind us of what we have and what is important. And with that, I'll choose travelling over a big house. In all honesty, the pursuit to impress is highly overrated, those who care about you won't care for these things, and those who care for these things won't care about you. No one is truly impressed by something fancy, you don't inspire people by showing off your nice car. No positive energy comes about from 'showing off' so why emit the energy? Inspire with more fruitful thoughts.

On my recent adventures I had the privilege to discover both Taiwan and Indonesia. Their amazing exquisite food encapsulates the riveting culture whilst blessing my taste senses. The natural landscape is also breathtaking, reminding us of the powerful love of Mother Nature. And with these adventures, I discovered something new about myself: I want to travel for the rest of my life. "The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page". Go out there and broaden your mind; be enlightened.
